5.4 CRANE OPERATION M A E D A Crawler Crane
5-28 5/2020 CC1908S-1
DO NOT USE OTHER THAN FOR ITS
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Do not raise or lower people using the crane.
DO NOT PERFORM UNREASONABLE
OPERATIONS
Operations exceeding the machine performance
can cause accidents.
Crane operations must always be carried out
according to the rated total load chart.
DO NOT WIND WIRE BY FORCE
Be careful not to catch the wire rope on a tree or
girder while working.
If it becomes entangled, do not force it. Untangle
the rope and then wind it.
DO NOT PERFORM PICK & CARRY
Pick & Carry risks causing the load to sway and
the machine to topple and is prohibited under
normal circumstances. If Pick & Carry is
unavoidable, refer to "5.5 PICK & CARRY
OPERATION" on P. 5-44, and adhere to the
instructions provided.
DO NOT OPERATE THE CRANE ON A
SLOPE
Operating the crane a slope risks the machine
toppling, and is prohibited under normal
circumstances.
Diagonal hoisting without ensuring the machine
is horizontal not only prevents the moment limiter
(overload prevention device) from functioning
normally, but also subjects the machine to
unexpected forces, resulting in toppling or
damage to the machine.
If operation on a slope is unavoidable, lay earth
(B) on the slope and establish a level, solid
foothold to prevent toppling accidents before
positioning the machine.
Be sure to check the level of the machine with
the level gauge.
