M A E D A Crawler Crane 5.5 PICK & CARRY OPERATION
5/2020 CC1908S-1 5-45
OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
Never drive the machine as follows, because
doing so may cause the machine to topple:
When operating, be sure to sit in the operator's
seat and travel carefully while a load is hoisted.
• Never perform crane operations while
travelling. Maintain the Pick & Carry posture.
• Do not raise the load to a high position. Hold it
close to the ground so that it does not sway.
• Do not start or stop suddenly, and do not make
sudden changes in direction. Doing so is
dangerous because it will cause the load to
sway.
Keep the engine speed low and travel slowly.
• Do not travel over obstructions. The machine
is likely to topple. Be sure to travel on a route
clear of obstructions.
• A warning buzzer sounds if the machine
detects an inclination of 3 degrees or more
while moving with a hoisted load of 0.5 t or
more. If the warning buzzer sounds,
immediately stop travelling on the slope.
PICK & CARRY POSTURE
DANGER
• During Pick & Carry, use the following "
Pick & Carry posture":
• Retract the boom to 8.99 m (two-stage
boom) or less.
• Slew the boom to the front centre
position.
• Do not perform any operation that changes
the above posture during Pick & Carry.
Doing so may cause the machine to topple,
resulting in serious personal injury.
During Pick & Carry, use the Pick & Carry
posture shown in the figure.
Travelling is prohibited if the machine is
overloaded or if the boom length is 9.0 m or
greater.
Travelling is not possible when the travelling
prohibited indicator is displayed to ensure
safety.
