5.9 FLY JIB (OPTION) M A E D A Crawler Crane

26. Draw the wire rope (12) pulled out in step 25
through the middle sheave (7) at the end of
the main boom, then pull it out toward the fly
jib.
IMPORTANT
When drawing the wire rope (12) through the
sheave (7), be sure to draw through the
grooves in the sheave (7).
27. Draw the wire rope (12) passed through the
sheave (7),through the guide sheave (14),
snap sheave (11), and sheave (7) in
sequence.
WARNING
Attach the wire rope correctly. Routing the
wire rope incorrectly may cause damage to
the wire rope, resulting in serious accidents.
28. Remove the overwinding detector weight (9)
from the weight hook (46) on the right side
surface of the No. 1 fly jib (2).
29. Draw the wire rope (12) through the hole in
the overwinding detector weight (9).
30. Secure the end of the wire rope (12) to the
wire socket (37), following the procedure
provided below.
1. Draw the wire rope (12) through the
wire socket (37) as shown in the figure
above.
2. The rope wedge (41) should be in
position (a). Pass the wire rope (12)
around the rope wedge and yank at the
rope in the direction indicated by the
arrow.
31. Attach a rope clip (40) to the wire rope (12).
See the figure for details of the rope clip (40)
mounting position.
32. Hold the wire socket (37), and insert it so
that the hole (b) in it aligns with the hole (a)
in the pin inside the hook block. Insert the
wedge socket pin (49) into the aligned holes,
align the clamping hole (d) in the wedge
socket pin (49) with the clamping hole (c) in
the wire socket (37), then secure with the
washer (51) and bolt (50).
