[4] Crane operation inspection
WARNING
When inspecting the crane operation, refer to
"5.4.4 OPERATION BEFORE CRANE WORK"
on P. 5-29 through "5.4.11 CRANE STOWAGE
OPERATION" on P. 5-40, and strictly adhere to
the procedures and precautions described.
1. Check that the boom rises smoothly when the
right-hand control lever is operated to the
"Raise" side (pulled inside). Also check that
the boom lowers smoothly when the
right-hand control lever is operated to the
"Lower" side (pushed outside). Check that no
abnormal noise is generated from the boom
or boom derricking cylinder.
Repair if any abnormality is found.
2. Check that the boom extends smoothly when
the left-hand control lever is operated to the
"Extend" side (pushed forward). Check that
the boom retracts smoothly when the
left-hand control lever is operated to the
"Retract" side (pulled backward). Check that
no abnormal noise is generated from the
boom or boom telescoping cylinder. Repair if
any abnormality is found.
3. Check that the hook is wound down smoothly
when the right-hand control lever is operated
to the "Hoist down" side (pushed forward).
Also check that the hook is wound up
smoothly when the right-hand control lever is
operated to the "Hoist up" side (pulled
backward). Check that no abnormal noise is
generated from the boom and winch motor.
Repair if any abnormality is found.
4. Check that the upper slewing body (boom)
slews counterclockwise smoothly when the
left-hand control lever is operated to the "Left
slewing" side (pushed outside). Also check
that the crane slews clockwise smoothly
when the left-hand control lever is operated to
the "Right slewing" side (pulled inside).
Check that no abnormal noise is generated
from the slewing equipment. Repair if any
abnormality is found.
