M A E D A Crawler Crane 6.16 INSPECTION
5/2020 CC1908S-1 6-39
[5] Overwinding prevention device
inspection
When performing the winch winding up and boom
extension operations with the hook block (1)
overwound (with the hook block (1) pushing up the
weight (3)), check that the buzzer sounds
intermittently and that the winch winding up and
boom extension operations stop automatically.
If not, the overwinding detector (2) may be faulty.
If the alarm does not stop, the overwinding
detector (2) may be faulty or the circuit may be
open.
Stop using the crane immediately, and contact us
or our sales service agency for repairs.
[6] Moment limiter inspection
WARNING
If an abnormality occurs in the moment limiter,
immediately contact us or our sales service
agency.
1. Turn the starter switch to the "ON" position.
2. Check the working status lamp. After all the
working status lamp colours illuminate for
approximately 3 seconds, the green working
status lamp illuminates.
3. Check that no error codes are displayed on
the monitor.
4. Start the engine and operate the crane as
follows. Then check if the display for the
moment limiter is correct.

item
Moment limiter
reading
"Boom length" reading when
boom length is set to
minimum
5.5 m
"Boom length" reading when
boom length is set to
maximum
19.4 m
"Working radius" reading
when boom length is set to
"5.5 m” (boom one stage) and
the boom angle is set to "50.0
degrees"
3.6±0.1 m
5. Check that the "Actual load" reading when a
weight of known mass is hoisted is same as
the total mass of the weight + hoisting
accessories. However, there may be an
acceptable margin of error depending on the
boom condition.
6. Operate the crane and measure the actual
"Boom angle" and "Working radius" when the
moment limiter readings are "5.5 m" (5.5 m
boom) for the boom length and "50 degrees"
for the boom angle. If there is any difference
between the actual measurements and
displayed values of the moment limiter,
contact us or our sales service agency.
[If fly jib is mounted]
1. Start the engine.
2. Check the working status lamp. After all the
working status lamp colours illuminate, the
green working status lamp illuminates.
3. Check that the monitor display indicates fly jib
mode.
