[1] Engine oil and engine oil filter
replacement
WARNING
Parts will still be hot immediately after
stopping the engine operation. Do not
proceed with oil or filter cartridge replacement
immediately, but wait for the engine to cool
until you can touch it with your bare hands.
IMPORTANT
For details on the oil used, refer to "6.5.1
USE OF FUEL AND LUBRICATING OIL
DEPENDING ON TEMPERATURE" on P. 6-11.
Using oil other than that specified may
shorten the service life of the engine. Be
sure to refill with the specified oil.
Keep the engine oil at an appropriate level.
Oil cannot be thoroughly drained if the
engine is completely cold. Run the engine
for a short while to warm up the oil before
draining it.
Be careful to avoid allowing any foreign
matter into the oil inlet opening when
replenishing the oil.
Oil pan replacement oil amount: 10.5 L
Oil drain pan: Prepare a container of at least
15 L.
Prepare a filter wrench.
1.
Turn the upper slewing body to the right by 90
degrees.
2.
Remove the under cover below the engine oil
filter, and place a container to catch the
drained oil under the drain bolt (3).
3.
Loosen the drain bolt (3) slowly to avoid
splashing oil on yourself, and drain the oil.
4.
Retighten the drain bolt (3) once the oil has
been drained.
Tightening torque: 53.9 to 63.7 Nm
(5.5 to 6.5 kgfm)
5.
Using the filter wrench, turn the filter cartridge
(2) counterclockwise to remove it.
6.
Apply a thin coating of engine oil to the gasket
surfaces on the new filter, then rotate
clockwise by hand until the base is in contact
with the mounting face. Now use a filter
wrench to tighten to the specified tightening
torque.
Tightening torque: 19.6 Nm to 23.5 Nm
(2.0 kgfm to 2.4 kgfm)
Make sure that the old gasket is not
stuck to the filter base. If the old gasket is
stuck, it can cause oil leakage.
Finally tighten to the specified tightening
torque or by one additional turn.
7.
Close the under cover.
8.
Open the machinery cover.
