[2] BOOM TELESCOPING WIRE ROPE ADJUSTMENT
CAUTION
Take care not to over-tension the wire ropes when adjusting them.
One wire rope each is used for boom extension and boom retraction.
Be sure to adjust these wire ropes using the following adjustment procedures:
1. Fully retract the boom and set it horizontally, then extend simultaneous telescoping booms 2 m or
more.
2. Retract the boom slowly to the stowed
position.
Measure the dimension of the gap (a), and
take the corresponding action as follows:
• If the gap (a) is 5 mm or more, adjust the
No. 5 boom retraction wire rope (5).
• If the gap (a) is zero, adjust as described
in item 5, "No.5 boom extension wire rope
(8) adjustment".
3. Remove the four boom tip mounting bolts (1),
then remove the cover (2).
If the wire rope is hanging down, refer to the
wire rope adjustment section and adjust.
