Do not connect to the wrong side [connecting
(+) to (-) or (-) to (+)] when connecting the
booster cable.
Connect from the (+) terminal first, but only after
disconnecting from the (-) terminal (ground).
Connect the ground to the (-) terminal of the
failed machine when connecting the ground as
the last procedure.
Refer to "6.19.3.4 STARTING UP USING A
BOOSTER CABLE" on P. 6-93.
Avoid contact between adjacent clips of the
booster cable as well as contact between a clip
and the machine when disconnecting the
booster cable.

connecting/disconnecting booster cable
WARNING
Never let the (+) terminal come into contact
with the (-) terminal when connecting the
cable.
Wear goggles and rubber gloves when
starting the engine with a booster cable.
Do not let the donor machine and failed
machine come into contact with each other.
The battery produces hydrogen gas, so
there is a risk of explosion due to sparks
near the battery.
Connect the booster cable correctly. Note
that there will be some sparks when making
the last connection. Make this connection
from as far away as possible from the
battery.
Do not let the booster cable clips contact
each other or the machine when
disconnecting the booster cable.
IMPORTANT
Use a booster cable and clips suitably heavy
for the battery size.
The battery in the donor machine should be
of similar capacity to that in the failed
machine.
The starting system of this machine is 24 V.
Check that the cable and clips are not
damaged or corroded.
Connect the clips securely.
Check that each control lever is in the
neutral position.
