REAR AXLE LOCKING PINS
The rear axle locking pins are for optional use. They may be
used any time to maintain normal ride-height on the rear
suspension with the air bags deflated. Normally deflating the
air bags causes the rear suspension to lower by several
inches. Locking the rear suspension provides additional
ground clearance for the rear outriggers and outrigger box.
Also locking the rear suspension increases the stiffness of
the suspension which is useful when traveling with
counterweight on a flat, level jobsite.
Installing Rear Axle Locking Pins
1. Remove the pin from its storage location (1,
Figure 6-184).
2. Insert the pin into the hole (2). It may be necessary to
inflate or deflate the air bags to align the holes.
Removing Rear Axle Locking Pins
1. Inflate or deflate the air bags to loosen the locking pin.
2. Remove the pin from the hole and insert in its storage
location.
