7.3. Adjustment of the Slip Correction
A calibration must be performed when media and ribbon are first installed in the
printer, or when a different type of media or ribbon is being used.
The adjustment of the slip correction via panel function is used to align the two
print images (colors) to each other (in print direction) and to correct the print
length.
Slip Correction settings are dependent upon a variety of factors including ribbon
type, media type and dimensions, and last but not least the condition of the feed
rollers and the printhead.
Hints on Material and Ribbon Loading:
Make sure the media is taut and parallel with itself and the pathway when wound
onto the rewind spindle/core. (Continue winding to remove any slack in the media
before closing the printhead. More details are described in chapter 5.)
7.3.1. Using the new Built-in Testpage
Slip correction is used to align the two print images (colors) to each other (in
print direction) and to correct the print length.
The following describes the usage of a new built-in testpage (available with
Firmware 5.3.64 and newer). The test pattern serves to find the right
setting value for the slip correction.
Hint: The previous methods are still available. You can find a description in
section 7.3.2 Alternative: Measuring the Label Length.
1. Start the printing of the Testpage at the Engine Menu
