12. Appendix
12.1. Color Printing with logiJET TC8
The logiJET TC8 is a thermal printing system with 2 print modules. These
print modules can be equipped with ribbons of various color.
Therefore multi-colored printouts are possible. Such printouts are
needed for example for GHS conform labels. These labels, consisting of
red and black elements, are used for dangerous goods.
Characteristics of the logiJET TC8:
The rear print unit prints the first color (standard: black)
The front print unit prints the second color
Hint: For everything in your print data that you hav
The logiJET TC8 is able to print so-called spot colors depending on the
possible.
This attribute must be taken into account by the application software and
the driver. Several pathways are available to feed the logiJET TC8 with
color print data.
These are explained in the following.
12.2. Basically Approach for Generating Colors
The colors to be printed must be represented by the equipped 2 colored
transfer foils. Basically you have the following capabilities:
- printing whole areas with the first printing color
- printing whole areas with the second printing color
- pattern printing with the first printing color (Dithering)
- pattern printing with the second printing color (Dithering)
The colors to be generated must be assigned to the two print colors by
the application or the driver. The allocation of the colors to the print
colors is as follows:
