B) Removing slack on winding side of ribbon
(at paper output side of the printhead)
11. Open the printhead assembly all the way until it stops and
tands upright.
12. Loosen both knurled screws that hold the ribbon guide plate
approximately one turn. (These screws are located on both
ends of the ribbon guide plate, see figure 8.2.c).

Please note: Do not remove the two knurled screws, just loosen them one
turn.
Never loosen screws other than these!
13. You should be able to make adjustments to the ribbon guide
plate while the ribbon is still installed.
Of course this depends on the width of the ribbon, that is
currently used.
However, adjustments will be easier, if you remove the
ribbon first.
14. Solve the problem that causes ribbon slack and wrinkles:
 If they are found on the right side of the ribbon (viewed from
the front of the printer, compare the following figure), move
the right end of the ribbon guide plate towards you.
 If they are found on the left side of the ribbon (viewed from
the front of the printer, compare the following figure), move
the left end of the ribbon guide plate towards you.
(The ribbon guide plate can turn on the center set
screw as the rigid point of support).
