8.1 ICW Backup and Restore
The Initial Configuration Wizard (ICW) triggers MSL scripts to perform a full MSL data backup
before configuring the system. The backup file (backup.tgz) will be stored in the /var/cache/
vucc/databases folder of the file system. The backup file will be deleted after the configuration is
completed successfully or if the Initial Configuration Wizard blade is uninstalled.
If the configuration is unsuccessful, the Initial Configuration Wizard will leave the system in a
failed state for the user to troubleshoot, correct, or complete the configuration. In such a case, the
backup file is retained.
The user can start a new configuration process or restore the backup data that was saved from
the last run of the ICW. For more details about restoring the backup data that was saved from the
last run of the ICW, see the Configuration Options Page on page 145.
After a successful configuration, users are recommended to schedule a periodic network backup
from the Server Manager Backup panel for maintenance and disaster recovery.
