10.7.6 Function monitoring
Characteristics/details Cause Remedy
Both tap-change supervisory
control contacts ON
▪ Event No. 1805
Tap-change supervisory control
contacts S80/S81 sticking.
Check the function of the tap-change supervi-
sory control contacts S80/S81.
Relays K80/K81 defective. Check the function of the relays K80/K81.
Wiring error Check the wiring between the tap-change su-
pervisory contacts S80/S81 and the relays K80/
K81 in accordance with the connection dia-
gram.
Both tap-change supervisory
control contacts OFF
▪ Event No. 1806
Dropout of one or more phases of
the motor-drive unit power supply
during the last tap-change opera-
tion.
For multi-column applications: Check whether
all on-load tap-changers are in the same tap
position. If yes, you can acknowledge this
event. And continue to operate the on-load tap-
changers.
Drive shaft break Check the drive shafts.
If the drive shaft has broken, the diverter switch
insert must be checked. Contact Maschinen-
fabrik Reinhausen GmbH.
Dropout of the control voltage for
the tap-change supervisory control
contacts S80/S81.
Check the control voltage for the tap-change
supervisory control contacts S80/S81.
Relays K80/K81 defective. Check the function of the relays K80/K81.
Wiring error Check the wiring between the tap-change su-
pervisory contacts S80/S81 and the relays K80/
K81 in accordance with the connection dia-
gram.

Wiring error Check the wiring between the tap-change su-
pervisory contacts S80/S81 and the relays K80/
K81 in accordance with the connection dia-
gram.
Position acquisition faulty.
▪ Event No. 1818
The position sensor is not cali-
brated or is defective.
Check wiring of the position sensor B30 as per
connection diagram. Export service data. Con-
tact MR. In the event of replacement: Calibrate
position sensor.
Invalid tap position
▪ Event No. 51
Wiring error Check wiring as per connection diagram.
The position sensor is defective. Export service data. Contact MR. In the event
of replacement: Calibrate position sensor.
Calculating the on-load tap-
changer current
▪ Event No. 1899
Configuration error Check the configuration of the analog input
[►Section 9.29, Page 292].
Wiring error Check wiring as per connection diagram.
