Cleaning Tank by Hand
CAUTION: Do not feed charred material through the gun. Particles can
block the gun. Instead unscrew the hose (Refer to section Installation).
1. Pump the material out of the melter or drain it through the material drain
bore.
Cold material can usually be peeled off of the sides of the tank. If necessary,
first heat tank to material softening temperature, (approx. 70 °C / 158 °F,
depending on the material).
Tilting Tank
Check the O-rings between hopper/grid and grid/reservoir every time the
equipment is cleaned. Replace any damaged O-rings.
1. Detach protective panels.
2. Detach the tank lid.
3. Release latches (1) and open the cover plate towards the electrical
cabinet.
The band heater need not be removed.

4. Release the four mounting clamps, hold the hopper by the handle and
then tip. The limit stop (3) engages.
5. Release the fitting (1, Fig. 5-9) and remove the bottom three elements
(2, Fig. 5-9) together.
Disconnect the grid plug XS1 (arrow).

6. Detach the grid from the reservoir.
7. Clean the tank and reassemble.
8. Reconnect the grid plug.
9. Pull and release the limit stop (3) to tilt the hopper back into place.
10. Close the mounting clamps (2) again.
11. Move the cover plate back into place and secure with the latches (1).
12. Attach protective panels again and put the tank lid in place.
