There may be a CPU error or a fatal error if operation stops (i.e., the RUN indicator turns OFF) and
the ERR/ALM indicator lights.
Data on fatal errors is displayed on the Error Tab Page of the CX-Programmer’s PLC Error Window.
Take corrective actions after checking error details based on the CX-Programmer display message
together with the Auxiliary Area Error Flags and error information.
• Errors are listed in order with the most serious errors first.
• If two or more errors occur at the same time, the most serious error code will be stored in
A400.
• If the IOM Hold Bit hasn’t been turned ON to protect I/O memory, all non-retained areas of I/O
memory will be cleared when a fatal error other than FALS(007) occurs.
• I/O memory will be held when the I/O Memory Hold Bit is ON, but outputs will be turned OFF.

Memory Errors
Cause Remedy
An error has occurred in memory.
One or more bits in A403 will turn ON to indicate where the
error has occurred.
See below for details.
• Memory Error Location
See below.
A403.00 is ON A checksum error has occurred in the
ladder program. The power supply was
turned OFF when backing up the user
program to backup memory.
Transfer the ladder program again.
A403.01 is ON An error occurs if the power supply is
interrupted for a long time and the I/O
memory cannot be retained when the
option in the CPU Execution Process
Setting Tab of the PLC Setup is set to
generate a memory error if I/O mem-
ory is corrupted.
1. Set the DM Area and Holding Area using
the CX-Programmer as necessary.
2. Turn OFF the A509.13 (I/O Memory Cor-
rupted or Clock Stopped Flag) using the
CX-Programmer.
A403.04 is ON A checksum error has occurred in the
PLC Setup.
Transfer the PLC Setup again.
A403.10 is ON There is a problem with backup mem-
