Checking the guideway play:
- Bring the knife beam (without knife) to its topmost and lowermost positions and
press it against the machine frame from the back. Use a feeler gauge and check
the play between the knife beam and the guide bars.
- Removing shims will decrease gap s. Be absolutely sure that the gap will not be-
come too narrow, or lubrication will no longer be guaranteed, with the knife beam
tending to get jammed. Seizure of the sliding surfaces would be the result.
After any change of the position of the guide bars, always check the gap between
the knife back and the clamp edge as described under "Clamping System".
115/132 cm machines
Knife beam 1 moves between sliding surfaces on machine frame 2 and guide bars 3.
The guide bars are held in machine front 5 by locating pins 4. By pressure screws 6 to
be found under plastic covers 7 on the machine front, you can adjust the guide bars
towards the knife beam.
On the table side, locating pins 4 and pressure screws 6 are protected by locking
screws 8 against being shifted or rotated.
Gap s should be < 0.05 mm.
