4.1 Knife beam guideway play

Checking the guideway play:
- Bring the knife beam (without knife) to its topmost and lowermost positions and
press it against the machine frame from the front, at the same time, using a feeler
gauge and checking the play between the knife beam and the guide bar on the
left-hand and right-hand sides.
If required, readjust gap s as follows:
• Bring the knife beam to its middle working position and press it against the machine
frame.
• Remove the front covering.
• Slacken locking screws 8 on the left and right of the cutting table (4 pcs. in total).
• Remove plastic cover 7 and use pressure screws 6 to force guide bar 3 against
the knife beam until you obtain the required play.
• Re-tighten locking screws 8 and check the play again with the knife beam at its
topmost and lowermost positions.
• Refit the front covering.
168/225 cm machines
Knife beam 1 moves between sliding surfaces on machine frame 2 and front parts
(right-hand & left-hand) 3. Each of the front parts sits on several threaded bushes 6.
Three threaded bushes are fixed to the front part by nuts 4.
All threaded bushes 6 are tightened to the machine frame by screws 5.
Gap s should be < 0.05 mm.
