4.1 Knife beam guideway play

Checking the guideway play:
- Bring the knife beam (without knife) to its topmost and lowermost positions and
press it against the machine frame from the front, at the same time, using a feeler
gauge and checking the play between the knife beam and the front part on the left-
hand and right-hand sides.
If required, readjust gap s as follows:
• Remove upper side covering.
• Bring the knife beam to its middle working position and press it against the machine
frame.
• Slacken nuts 4 and screws 5.
• Use threaded bushes 6 to adjust the play.
• Lock nuts 4 and tighten screws 5, then check the play again on the left and
right of the front part with the knife beam being at its topmost and lowermost
positions.
• Refit the coverings and light guards.
Caution:
Check the light guard for proper functioning afterwards.
