115/132 cm machines
The backgauges of 115 and 132 cm guillotines are guided by a circular guide (slideway)
arranged above the cutting table.
If some play occurs on the backgauge, or if square cutting is no longer in conformity
with the tolerances check the setting screws between the backgauge and the guide-
way for firm seating and lock their nuts. Please refer to "Adjusting Square Cutting" in
the Operating Manual.
If excessive play in the backgauge guidance possibly occurs after a longer time in
operation use tensions screws 1 and pressure screws 2 to readjust the play (Figure 27).
Check the play with the aid of a dial gauge to be applied to the rear hub of guide block 3.
For this purpose, manually press the backgauge to the left and right to alternately
bring the hub in contact with guide column 4 and read the absolute play off the gauge
under no-load conditions.
The play should be within the limits of 0.03 to 0.04 mm.
Depending on the operating conditions, clean the guide column with petroleum ether once a
year. Keep the lubrication cycles as indicated under "Lubrication" in the Operating Manual
or in the lubrication chart on the back of the machine.
Make sure that the narrow-cutting rakes are square to the table and in line.
If they are not square or not in line remove the narrow-cutting rakes and clean
their rear sides, if necessary.
