168 cm machines
Backgauge 1 is guided by a carriage 2 born by rollers and moving on a profile column 3
arranged above the cutting table.
If some play occurs on the backgauge, or if square cutting is no longer in conformity
with the tolerances check setting screws 4 between the backgauge and the guideway
for firm seating and lock their nuts. Please refer to "Adjusting Square Cutting" in the
Operating Manual.
Horizontally, the guide carriage is borne by three fixed rollers 5 and one eccentrically
adjustable roller all arranged above
the guide column, and by four eccentrically ad-
justable rollers 6 below the guide column. Vertically, the guide carriage is protected
against distortion by two fixed rollers 5 on the right
and by two eccentrically adjustable
rollers 6 on the left.
If some play possibly occurs after a longer time in operation you can use the eccentri-
cally adjustable rollers for compensation.
For this purpose, slacken outer nut 7 and rotate eccentric pin 8 until the roller is in
contact with the guide track. Re-tighten the nuts.
After that, make sure that the rollers are freely running over the entire length of the
guideways.
Check whether the dirt wipers of the guideways have slight contact with the latter and
readjust them, if necessary.
Depending on the operating conditions prevailing, clean the rollers and the tracks with
petroleum ether.
Do not grease the rollers and the tracks.
