After a cut,
- the clamp stays on
the pile.
- the clamp slowly
returns to its upper
dead centre.
- Check whether the "clamp locking after cutting" special
function has been preselected.
- Broken return spring.
Change the spring.
- Multiway valve reset spring broken (Y60).
Change the spring.
- Multiway valve ram jammed.
Dismantle the multiway valve to remove possible soiling.
No "preclamping" when
the pedal is actuated,
i. e. the clamp does not
come down.
- Check the pump pressure at M1 with a manometer during
free circulation and preclamping.
For the values, refer to Table 2.
If there is no pressure:
- The pump is defective.
Change the pump.
- VD1, VD1.1 or VD2 is flown through.
For safety reasons, repairing may only be performed by
trained personnel.
If the required pressure is available:
- Make sure that the machine has been properly levelled
and, consequently, that the clamp runs freely. Inspect the
clamp tie rods for possible jamming. Readjust the clamp
guidance, if required.
The clamp returns
slowly after preclamping.
- Check the filter clogging indicator according to "Checking
the Filter" in the Operating Manual.
- Make sure that the machine has been properly levelled
and, consequently, that the clamp runs freely. Inspect the
clamp tie rods for possible jamming. Readjust the clamp
guidance, if required.
- Clamp return spring fatigue.
Tension the spring package in the top bridge of the ma-
chine frame. (For P115 to P168 models, accessible under
the upper right panel; for P225 under upper the middle
panel after bringing down the knife beam.)
No fast clamp move-
ment before pressure
build-up.
- VD2 is not properly set. Refer to "Adjusting the hydraulic
clamping system".
Connect a test manometer to M1 and check the pres-
sure according to Table 2.
- VD2 is flown through (e. g. broken spring). Insufficient
pressure build-up.
Change the valve.
- Multiway valve Y90 does not switch.
Insufficient pressure build-up via VD1, VD1.1.
- Multiway valve Y60 does not switch.
Free return flow into the tank via VDR and F.
Change the multiway valve.
- Air in the hydraulic system.
Deaerate as described under "Start-up".
