35.1.l.l Estimated Latitude
The ‘ENTRR YOUR LATITCJDE” message will be
prompting for the latitude entry. To enter your
estimated latitude, type in the approximate value
of the ship’s latitude coordinate from your chart
using the corresponding numeric keys according to
the following example.

Before you press the-key, be sure to check
that the direction symbol is correctly indicated for
your position. If not, press the A (up) direction key for “N”;
r(down)
direction key for ‘5”.
All of the United States is in the North Latitudes.
If you make a mistake, just press them orlREV]keys to move the cursor
prompt to the incorrect numeric entry and retype the proper number.
35.1~2 Entering Longitude
Whede[ is pressed following the Latitude entry, the message prompt
‘ENTER YOUR MNGITUDE’is now displayed. To enter the Longitude value,
type the desired value of ship’s Longitude from the chart with the numeric
keys.
Ifthe Longitude is less than 1OO’entera ‘O”flrst,followed bythe remaining
numeric keys in the entry. Then press-].
Example: Press 0 ,6,9,1,5 , 1, SJEl for W 069’ 15.18’.
When you are entering Longitude, before you press the-[key, verify
that the direction for the Longitude is correct. If not,press the
A (up) key
for ‘W”or the v(down) key for “BE”, as appropriate.
Verify that your estimated position entry is within lo of your actual
position. If you make a mistake use them and m keys to fix the
numeric error.
