Frequency
The
V8010
uses a transducer that can transmit at
frequencies of
2OOKhz,
SOKhz,
or 28Khz.
Them
key selects which operating frequency will be in use.
When the
-1
key is pressed and
5OKhz
is selected, 50 Khz sonic
energy is transmitted in a ‘WIDE” beam of
12Ox
18”.
The
5OKhz
frequency
provides deep depth penetration and is an effective frequency to use when
searching for baitfish and fish schools down to 200 fathoms or more.
‘50”
will be indicated in the upper right corner of the display next to the alarm
symbol when the
5OKhz
frequency is selected.
When the
IFREQ/41
key is pressed again, the
28Khz frequency is selected. The 28Khz fre-
quency provides the greatest depth range per-
formance and detection of larger, deeper fish
targets. The transmitted beam is approximately
20’
x
27’.
The 200Khz sonic energy is transmitted in a
more focused narrow beam angle of
approxi-
mately
6’.
This beam angle provides good depth
penetration with excellent bottom resolution
and detail. The best use for the 200 Khz fre-
quency, with it’s narrow beam angle, is for positioning the boat
directly
over
the live bottom areas,coral or rock
piles,
edges of wrecks, holes, or
dropoffs
of channels. When the 200Khz frequency is selected, ‘ZOO” appears in the
upper right comer of the display next to the alarm symbol.
33.13 Saving Events
While using the Fishfinding display screens there may be numerous occa-
sions to mark a spot holding fish, the location of a wreck, or other interesting
bottom structure so you can later on return back to the same location. If
your
V8010
is connected to the optional GPS sensor or to your loran, you
can save these events in the fishtinder’s own memories.
The
V8010
contains 80 Event memories for storin
event information. To save any event, press the
key. A temporary window will appear on-screen showmg
‘EVENT
SAVED"
has been saved into memory # xxx.
