Notice that the Navigation displays show various
waypoint
bearings and ship’s course information.
This data can appear in
“Bue”
or
‘hlagnetic”

grees. In general, when you are using your
echosounder data output to steer to a
waypoint
or
operate with your autopilot, you will usually want
this bearing information to be in ‘Magnetic”. This
is accomplished by adding a variation to the
‘True”
bearing data.
