REMLNDER
Whenever the echo sounder is turned OFF, the ‘last used” range scale is
saved and reused for the fishtinding
display
when turned ON again. The last
setting of the Shift operation (Auto or Manual) will be restored for display.
Auto Shift and Auto Range cannot operate at the same time.
33.1.7 Setting the Gain
Knowing how to set the Gain level of the fishfinder
for the best pickup of fish echoes can make a big
difference on whether the fishing trip is successful or
not. In general the Gain sensitivity level is usually set
to produce a display screen with some noise in the
background. Then the Gain level is reduced to the
point just producing slight noise pickup in the back-
ground. At this setting point the unit is in its most
sensitive condition. The Gain (sensitivity) for each
frequency is controlled by a variable control which
EVEL
can be optimized for the most sensitive detection level.
Rotate the GAIN control marked
‘A”clockwise
to increase the Gain level
and counter-clockwise to reduce the Gain level for the 200Khz frequency.
Rotate the GAIN control marked
“B”clockwise
to increase the Gain level
and counter-clockwise to reduce the Gain sensitivity level for the 50 or
28Khz frequency.
33.1.7.1 Auto Gain Operation
