5. SERVICE TABLES
5.1 SERVICE PROGRAM MODE
CAUTION
Before entering the service program mode, check that the printer is not
processing any data. The data-in LED () is off when the machine is not
processing data.
5.1.1 OPERATING SERVICE PROGRAM MODE
IMPORTANT
Do not allow the user access to the service program mode. Proper
operation cannot be guaranteed if the user accesses service program
mode.
Activating SP Mode
• When the printer is off:
1. Press and hold the Online key [A]
and the Escape Key [B]
simultaneously.
2. Turn the main power switch on.
(Continue to hold down the two keys.)
3. Wait until the message "SYSTEM ver.
x.xx" is displayed. (x.xx shows the
current firmware version.) Release
the two keys.
• When the printer is on:
1. Press and hold the up-arrow key [C]
and the down-arrow [D]
simultaneously. Press and hold both keys for at least five seconds. Note: The
display continues to show “Ready” during this time.
2. Next, release the up-arrow and down-arrow keys and immediately (within
approximately two-seconds) press the Enter key [E]. The message "SYSTEM
ver. x.xx" is displayed.
