PAPER TRAY UNIT

6.7.4 PAPER SIZE AND PAPER TRAY DETECTION
Mechanism
A printed circuit board [E] located at the rear end of the left paper-tray rail is
comprised of four photosensors. Three photosensors on the front side [A][B][C] are
the paper size sensors. The remaining sensor is the paper tray sensor [D]. The
paper size sensors detect the paper size in the paper tray. The paper tray sensor
detects the paper tray (tray is set correctly).
An interrupter [H] that is attached to the front plate [F] interrupts (blocks) the paper
size sensors. This interrupter has an opening [I], and can interrupt up to two
sensors at one time.
The paper tray has one more interrupter [G] located on its rear left corner. This
interrupter blocks the paper tray sensor. If the paper tray is correctly set in the
printer, the paper tray sensor is actuated (blocked).
