• Re-check to make sure that the flange nuts are tightened to
the specified torque.
u Note: The recess U on the camshaft face must
be facing down (i.e. towards the cylinder).
The camshaft can be rotated only if the
piston is at the BDC, otherwise the valves
will touch the piston. Rotate the camshaft
with the timing gear I.
• Position the piston at the top dead center (TDC).
• When fitting the timing gear I , make sure that the prong O
on the gear is facing the camshaft (i.e. downwards). With the
gear in this position, insert timing chain P and place it on the
camshaft {. The timing gear prong O must fit into the
recess in the camshaft.
Installation position - check
• The reference hole } in the timing gear must correspond to
the upper prong q on the retaining plate w. If it doesn’t
correspond, position the timing gear I correctly!
• Secure the timing gear with an M6x16 hex bolt (SW 13) r
and washer e and a shield washer t, applying a coat of
LOCTITE 243 to the bolt.
• Fit the timing gear with the chain tensioner assembled.
Torque wrench setting + : 30 Nm
Chain tensioner - refit
• Thoroughly lubricate the entire chain tensioner piston Q and
insert it with the spring.

• Ri-controllare se i dadi a colletto sono serrati alla coppia
prescritta.
u Nota: L’incavo U sulla faccia dell’albero a camme
deve essere orientato verso il basso (ver-
so il cilindro). L’albero a camme può essere
ruotato solo se il pistone è al punto morto
inferiore, altrimenti le valvole toccano il
pistone. Ruotare l’albero a camme tramite
l’ingranaggio distribuzione I.
• Mettere il pistone al punto morto superiore (PMS).
• Al montaggio dell’ingranaggio distribuzione I fare
attenzione che il nasello O sull’ingranaggio sia orientato
verso l’albero a camme (verso il basso). Con l’ingranaggio
in questa posizione, inserire la catena distribuzione P e
posarla sull’albero a camme {. Il nasello O dell’ingranaggio
distribuzione deve inserirsi nell’incavo dell’albero a
camme.
Posizione d’installazione — controllo
• Il foro di controllo } sull’ingranaggio distribuzione deve
corrispondere con il nasello superiore q sulla piastra di
ritenuta w. Se non corrisponde, posizionare l'ingranaggio
distribuzione I opportunamente!
• Fissare l’ingranaggio distribuzione con vite esag. M6x16
(SW 13) r , rondella e e rondella schermo t applicando
LOCTITE 243 alla vite.
• Fissare l’ingranaggio distribuzione con tendicatena
montato.
Coppia di serraggio + : 30 Nm
Tendicatena — montaggio
• Lubrificare bene tutto il pistone tendicatena Q ed inserirlo
con la molla.
