SEL-387E Instruction Manual
Step 3. Wait for the SEL BOOT program to load.
The front-panel LCD screen displays the SEL BOOT firmware number (e.g.,
SLBT-3xx-R100). The number following the R is the SEL
BOOT revision number. This
number is different from the relay firmware revision number.
After SEL
BOOT loads, the computer will display the SEL BOOT !> prompt.
Step 4. Press <Enter> to confirm that the relay is in SEL
BOOT .
You will see another SEL BOOT !> prompt.
Commands Available in SEL
BOOT
For a listing of commands available in SEL
BOOT , type HELP <Enter>. You should see a screen
similar to
Figure B.9.

Establish a High-Speed Connection
Step 5. Type BAU 38400 <Enter> at the SEL
BOOT !> prompt.
Match Computer Communications Speed to the Relay
Step 6. From the Call menu, choose Disconnect to terminate communication.
Step 7. Correct the communications parameters.
a. From the File menu, choose Properties.
b. Choose Configure.
c. Change the computer communications speed to match the new data transmission
rate in the relay (
Figure B.10).
d. Click OK twice.
Step 8. Press <Enter> to check for the SEL
BOOT !> prompt indicating that serial
communication is successful.
