6.3.1 Batch planning list
In the batch planning list you can plan in batches on a tabular basis, and
specify the temporal sequence of the batches in order to so prevent conflicts
in equipment occupancy in the production sequence. The batch planning list
displays the planned, released, blocked and also the batches which are
running (in other words, currently undergoing on-line editing). The batch
symbols are color-coded according to the status of the batch.
Every batch has a list place number (’No.’) in order to allow simple labelling
and selection when batches are chained (see Chapter 6.3.3). If no sorting or
filter functions are active, the numbering will correspond either to the order
of release for batches which have already started and been released, or to the
order in which planned batches were defined.
With chained batches, the list place number of the preceding batch
(’Predecessor’) is displayed and the table also shows the color-coded batch
symbol, batch designation, product designation, quality, batch quantity,
engineering unit, status, starting mode, starting time, expected finishing
time and planned execution sequence for each batch.
If you wish, you can expand the batch planning list by adding columns for
the corresponding production order, the corresponding recipe and the test
indicator (the recipe has been released for testing). You can do this by
selecting ’Columns’ in the ’View’ menu.

Table 1-1 (see Page 1-24).

The batch planning list is updated automatically – in other words, the state of
the batches which are currently being processed on-line by batch control is
updated whenever there is a modification. You can switch off automatic
updating of the batch planning list by clicking on the ’Update automatically’
feature in the ’Tools’ menu and remove the √.
