Every object in your layout has an ob
ject description including name, title,
and (usually) explanatory text. The
ReportDesigner automatically supplies
a ReportFrame when you create a new
layout. The dialog shown above dis
plays the information provided by the
developer for using this object in your
layout. You can access this information
at any time by double clicking on the
object.
If you don't have an underlying report
structure, you must enter the name of
this object in this dialog. The name
must coincide the report's data source.
Therefore ask a developer for a list of
all available
data objects.
The Work Surface
After you close the object description
dialog, the ReportDesigner displays
the page sized work surface with hori
zontal and vertical rulers. This is
where you place, order, and format all
your objects.
