3.3 Administrative functions
The following functions are managed centrally by BOM:
1. Application management:
All functions connected with applications (such as starting and
terminating the recipe editor, batch control and so on) are performed by
BOM via application management. Applications can also be managed
which do not have a user interface, such as control recipe generation or
batch data preparation.
To provide a better overview and ensure dependable execution of the
functions the applications are grouped together in the applications list
(see Page 3-11).
2. Recipe management:
Functions connected with recipes (such as opening, copying, deleting
recipes, and so on) are performed by BOM via recipe management. To
make sure that these functions can be executed selectively and
dependably, all recipes are grouped together in the recipe overview list.
This recipe overview list (see Page 3-12) is managed.
3. Batch management:
Functions connected with batches (such as opening, deleting batches, and
so on) can be performed by BOM. You can however also carry out these
functions with the aid of the optional Batch Planning application. To
make sure that these functions can be executed selectively and
dependably, all batches are grouped together in the batch overview list.
This batch overview list (see Page 3-20) is managed.
4. Production order management:
Functions connected with production orders (such as closing, exporting
production orders, and so on) can be performed by BOM. To make sure
that these functions can be executed selectively and dependably, all
production orders are grouped together in the production orders list.
This production orders list (see Page 3-27) is managed.
5. User management:
Functions connected with users and user groups are performed by BOM
via user management. To make sure that these functions can be executed
selectively and dependably, all users and user groups are grouped together
in the user list.
This user list (see Page 3-31) is managed.
