4.11 Random reboot
When the machine randomly reboots (shows Summa logo at start), usually while cutting or
during media load, then this could be because too much current is required from the power
supply which then switches off to prevent more damage. This could be due to the following:
• Power supply is unable to supply its rated power. Replace the power supply.
• The power entry module may have a bad contact in the socket or the switch. Replace the
power switch module.
• The power cable may have a bad contact.
• The mains wall socket may have a bad contact.
• A motor is requiring too much current which cannot be provided by the power supply. Replace
the defective motor.
• A driver (U22, U23 or U24) on the main board used to power a motor is defective. Replace the
main board.
4.12 Display too bright
The display may become too bright due to defective electronics on the display, usually as a
result of static electricity.
Prevent static electricity discharge through the display: before touching the display, touch
the top cover of the machine. Replace the display.
