In case knife cutting direction is set incorrect, then this could be due to the following:
Encoder of cutter head motor is defective. In this case the knife orientation did not change
after loading media.
Pulley on the cutting head motor came loose. The knife orientation will be at a random
position.
The belt in the cutter head is too loose, and jumped over the teeth of the pulley. The knife
orientation will be at a random position.
The belt in the cutter head is worn. The knife orientation will be at a random position.
The “Factory Origin” parameter of the cutter head is incorrect. Normal value is in the range of
-100 to +100 (can be changed between -1024 and +1024, one step is 0.18°). Decreasing
this value will cause the knife to rotate clockwise. This parameter is accessible only when the
machine was started in service mode (see “Service mode”). Load media, then click [Settings]
– [Calibrate knife].
6.8 Bad cutting quality
When cutting near the edge of the media, then it is mandatory to have the middle pinch
rollers down when using wide media, as the front edge of the media tends to deform when
the knife touches the media to the cutting strip while cutting.
Job cut over the width of the media (123 cm wide media):
Detail when middle pinch rollers are up, at the front edge of the media (even weeding becomes
difficult due to the deformation of the media):
