Set Email Ringtones
You can select if and how your device lets you know (or “notifies” you) when a new email message has arrived.
If you turn on notifications (explained below), you will receive a balloon notification in the title bar (shown
below) and a ringtone will play when you receive a new message.
To turn on new message notification and to select a ringtone, do the following while in the Email application:
1 From the Browse Email screen, press Menu then select Settings > General. The General Settings screen
appears.
2 Look for the group box that reads New message alert.
As long as you have a ringtone selected, you’ll hear this ringtone when you receive a new email message.
You’ll receive this and the balloon notification no matter what screen you’re viewing or application you’re in
(except no balloon notifications will appear while you’re playing games). If you do not want a ringtone to play
or a balloon notification to appear, select None from the pop-up menu:
