4 Machine description
4�1 General (basic) information
A specially equipped high-performance pan mixer forms the central unit of the batch plant.
In batch operations, after weighing, the added components are mixed intensively, homoge-
nized, and discharged via a bottom discharge.
4�2 Functional description
Shortly before lling - when still empty - the mixer is placed into operation.
Circulating, centrally driven mixing tools keep all of the mixed components constantly in motion
and homogenize them in a stationary ring trough using strong, alternating ows.
Once the set mixing time has expired, the mixed batch is discharged by the mixing paddles
and wall scrapers through a discharge opening in the oor of the mixing trough. Full discharge
in the shortest possible time is achieved by means of a mixing trough oor that is completely
at.
With the appropriate accessories, the batch can be wetted with water after a certain dry mixing
time or can be warmed as well as wetted with hot steam.
