PR‑23‑AC mounting specifics
The sanitary process refractometer PR‑23‑AC is connected to the process by a 2.5 in sanitary
clamp. The recommended mounting is in a pipe bend, with a vertical flow upwards before
the sensor, and a horizontal pipe after. This mounting enables the following:
1. Self-cleaning of prism due to the flow directed against its surface.
2. Ecient drainage when the pipe is emptied.
For pipe diameters of 3 in or above, a ferrule is welded directly to the pipe wall (a ferrule,
length 21.5 mm, is delivered with standard sensor delivery from Vaisala).
