− Lubricate the tooth flanks of the pinion and
flywheel. Related to visual inspections, but at
the latest, each 2000 Op. h of the engine

− Do a check of the tightness on the piston
through the scavenge ports in the installed
position (oil pump in operation)
After installation
3403−3 − Disassemble and assemble (open the cooling
space and clean, minimum one piston each
three years)
As necessary
3403−4 − Do a check of the of the piston top surface At each piston removal
− Do a visual check through scavenge ports of
the piston, piston rings and cylinder liner
500 to 1000
− Visual check of cylinder liner 500 to 1000 (and at
every piston removal)
− Measure the piston ring grooves. Do an
inspection of the chromium plating. Add new
chrome as necessary
18000 to 36000 (on
condition)
− Estimated service life: Piston ring grooves 18000 − 36000
