REAR AXLE

Rear Axle
1. Tap out the rear axle (3) from the rear axle case.
2. Remove the bearing (2) and oil seal (1).
(Assembling Procedure for Rear Axle)
1. Assemble the ball bearing (2) to the rear axle case.
2. Assemble the oil seal 1 (1), face the seal lip to outside.
3. Assemble the oil seal 2 (5) to the rear axle.
4. Assemble the rear axle to rear axle case.
(When reassembling)
• Apply transmission fluid to the oil seal when insert the rear axle
to rear axle case.

[4] SERVICING
Ball Bearing
1. Hold the inner race, and push and pull the outer race in all
directions to check for wear and roughness.
2. Apply transmission fluid to the bearing, and hold the inner race.
Then, turn the outer race to check rotation.
3. If there is any defect, replace it.

Needle Bearing
1. Check the needle bearing for abrasion, color, change or other
damage.
2. If there is any doubt as to the condition of a needle bearing,
replace it.
