RECOIL STARTER
Starter spring
1. Visually inspect the starter spring and
replace it if it is broken or has distorted
ends.
Start-in-gear protection
1. Inspect the starter stop-plunger and
replace it if is cracked or damaged.
2. Inspect the cable and replace it if it
shows signs of fraying or sticking.

ASSEMBLY
1. Hook the outer end of the starter-spring
onto the retainer-post attached to the
starter-case, and install the spring onto
the starter case by winding it counter-
clockwise.
NOTE:
Apply water resistant grease to the inner
surface of the starter case.
Each new starter-spring is bound by a
steel hoop. To install, hook its outer end
onto the retainer-post first, put it into the
starter case, and then remove steel hoop.

2. Insert the rope through the rope-holes,
and knot the ends.
