DRIVE SHAFT AND PROPELLER
SHAFT
1. Visually inspect the shafts, looking for
grooved wear on the surface in contact
with the bearings and oil-seals, and
looking for wear on the splines. Replace
if worn or damaged.

DRIVE SHAFT SLEEVE
1. Visually inspect the sleeve for wear and
cracks. If any damage is found, replace
the sleeve.

SHIFT-PLUNGER, SHIFT-SHAFT, AND
BOOT
1. Inspect the shift-plunger for signs of
wear or damage, dents in the contact
surface, replace if required.
2. Inspect the shift-rod boot for breakage
or damage, and replace the boot if dam-
age is found.
