− After inserting the compensator λ and rotating the specimen by 90° (2 click stops), the interference
color remains white. It is then, however, a "higher-order white" and thus the path difference is > 5 λ.
The appropriate compensator is:
Tilting compensator K 0-30
(Accessory 000000-1115-698)
− A dark gray as interference color suggests very small path differences (λ/10 or 54.6 nm).
• Push the compensator into the slot as far as it will go.
