The subnet mask specifies the network number portion of an IP address. Your VLC1012 computes the subnet
mask automatically based on the IP address that you entered. You don’t need to change the subnet mask computed
by the VLC1012 unless you are instructed to do otherwise. The factory default subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
The default gateway specifies the IP address of the default gateway (next hop) for outgoing traffic. The default
gateway is specified as 0.0.0.0.

IP Address Enter the IP address of your VLC1012 in dotted decimal notation. 192.168.1.1
IP Subnet Mask Your VLC1012 automatically calculates the subnet mask based on the IP
address that you assign. Unless you are implementing subnetting, use the
subnet mask computed by the VLC1012.

Default Gateway Enter the IP address of the default outgoing gateway in dotted decimal
notation.
0.0.0.0
When you have completed this menu, press [ENTER] at the prompt “Press ENTER to Confirm…” to save your
configuration, or press [ESC] at any time to cancel.
