− For a typical setup, click the Fixed radio buttons of the VDSL port and the uplink (either one Ethernet
port or the trunk). Click the
Forbidden radio buttons of all the other ports. Leave the TX Tagging field
unchecked on the VDSL port and enable the
TX Tagging field for the uplink port (trunk).
− Click the
Apply button.
− Repeat these steps for the rest of the VDSL ports.
Step 4. To configure the management VLAN, select the last entry from the Index column to create a new
VLAN. Note that this must be the last step before you lose connection to the line card. On the
Edit

page,
− Fill in the management VID in the
VLAN ID textbox.
− Give it an appropriate name, e.g., “Management”, in the
Name textbox.
− Click the
Active checkbox to activate this entry.
− Click the
Forbidden radio button of every VDSL port (1 to 12) to prevent the subscribers from
modifying the line card.
− Click the
Fixed radio button of the uplink port or trunk and enable TX Tagging.
− Click the
Apply button. This will bring you back to the previous page.
− On the
802.1Q VLAN Static Entry Setup page, fill in the Management VLAN ID textbox and click
the
Apply button. This will disconnect the computer from the line card since the incoming frames to
the line card must have VLAN tags from now on.
