Overview
This chapter gives a brief introduction to the IES-2000/3000 hardware.
3.1 Additional Installation Requirements
• A computer with Ethernet 10Base-T or 100Base-TX NIC (Network Interface Card)
• WAN service provided by a local phone company
3.2 Front Panel
The following figures show the front panels of the IES-2000 and IES-3000 main chassis and splitter chassis with
installed line and splitter cards.
Install the main chassis and splitter chassis in a rack with the splitter chassis directly below the
main chassis.
Warning!
To avoid the risk of electric shock, remove only one card at a time and do not place fingers or
objects inside the chassis. Cover empty slots with slot covers.
Warning!
To avoid injury, remove all metal jewelry, watches, and so on from your hands and wrists before
servicing this device.
Install the EEC1020 in slot 1 on the IES-2000 and slot 8 or 9 on the IES-3000.
Install the cards starting from the bottommost (IES-2000) or the leftmost (IES-3000) slot.
Fan Module Warning!
Use the fan module handles when pulling out or pushing in the fan module. Be careful not to put
fingers or objects inside the fan module.
