Step Action Notes
1 Prepare the vial. a Fill a 20-mL vial with 10 mL of dry sand
b Cap the vial (see page 90) and poke a
small hole in the middle of the septum.
c Push the K-type probe through the
hole and into the sand. Make sure the
probe is not touching the wall of the
vial.
2 Start the calibration process from
the Zones Calibration screen.
a Navigate to Advanced Function 13.

Calibration from the Zones
Calibration screen. Press Enter.
3 Place the temperature probes. a Lift the lid of the Headspace Sampler
and place the vial with temperature
probe in carousel position 1.
b Remove the manifold cover over the
sampling loop. See page 130.
c Place the second K-type probe into the
hole in the heater block that holds the
sample loop. See below.
d Replace the manifold cover and
tighten screws.
• Route the sample loop probe lead
along the transfer line to avoid
pinching.
• Push the probe to the back of the
hole in the sample loop heater
block.
