Absolute/Incremental (ABS/INCR) Key
When the Absolute Mode indicator is OFF, the DRO measures in increments and
internally tracks the corresponding absolute (ABS) dimensions. This is a safeguard and
serves to measure the total distance being moved along a given axis.
Press ABS/INCR to switch the display to Absolute Mode. The DRO displays the
Absolute dimension from the starting point on the axis display.
Example: If a series of six 2.00 in. (50.8 mm) incremental moves are made, change to
ABS Mode to display the total distance moved, which is 12.000 in. (304.80
mm).
