6.7 Program Operations
6.7.2 Measurement of Receiver
The measurement of the receiver performed by this program involves connection of the
output of the calibrated signal generator to the DUT via the channel selector and a cable
with 3 dB-3 dB attenuator and calculation of the correction values based on the difference
between the measured value of each frequency and the reading of the power meter at the
time of calibration. Moreover, when connection of multiple DUTs are set on the “Initial
Menu Screen” shown in Fig. 6-4, measurement of the DUT connected is performed con-
tinuously. Follow the instructions below to perform measurement of the receiver.
(1) Select the equipment name of the DUT from the “Test Device” box of section [8].
All the equipment units are set as measurement targets, though the measurement
items for each equipment are different.
(2) Select “Receiver” from the “Measurement Type” box of section [2]. This enables
the address numbers of the equipment in the “Address Number” box of section
[5] to be modified.
(3) Check the “Channel Selector” in section [19] to perform measurement by using
the channel selector. This enables the address number of the channel selector in
section [5] to be modified.
(4) When the use of the channel selector is selected in (3), input the number of DUT
units to be connected in the “Connect” box of section [11]. Setting up to four
units is enabled.
(5) Select “Continuous Mode” to continuously measure all the items of the reception
system or select “Item Select Mode” to continuously measure only the selected
items, from the “Measurement Mode” box of section [4]. When “Item...” is selected
in this section, selection of items displayed in sections [6], [10] and [12] is enabled.
(6) When “Item...” is selected in (5), select the items to be measured in sections [6],
[10] and [12]. This causes the names of data output files for the selected items to
be displayed in section [13]. When sections [6] and [10] are selected, all the
items displayed in the lower order will switch into the selected status.
(7) Select “Settings” –– “Serial Number” in section [1] and input the serial numbers
for all the units set in (4). See 6.6.3 “Inputting Serial Number” for more informa-
tion on the input of serial numbers.
(8) To measure the correction values of the DUT, set the command button of section
[14] at “Calibration.” On the other hand, to measure the frequency response, set
the command button at “Freq. –– Resp.”
(9) Check all the setup items and click the “Measure” button of section [15]. This
causes the measurement to start after confirmation of the contents set prior to mea-
surement start. See 6.7.4 “Items Confirmed Before Start of Measurement” for more
information on the items that must be confirmed prior to measurement start.
