8 - FUNNEL TEST: This Test Will Erase All Files on the
Disk. The funnel test writes an incrementing pattern (first three _
bytes are usually the cylinder, head, and sector) to the disk. The j j
pattern of the write, read, and verify is, however, different. Each ^.
cylindfer/surface is written one sector at a time. The sectors are
written in the following manner: start sector, last sector, start
sector +1, last sector -1, and so on down to the center sector. The
surface pointer is then incremented and the process repeated until
all cylinders have been tested in this manner.

10 - FULL EXERCISER: This Test Will Erase All Files on
the Disk. The full exerciser test performs tests 1 through 7
repeatedly.

9 - AGING TEST: This Test Will Erase All Files on the
Disk. The aging test is a very long test. The sectors are written pj
and verified individually. Then all sectors pireviously written are i )
read and verified.

11 - WRITE & VERIFY SURFACE: This Test Will Erase
All Files on the Disk. This test writes once as per the data /p
pattern test and then performs the read/verify function of the ! ]
data pattern test. It also produces the bad block list.
12 - LOW LEVEL FORMAT: This Test Will Erase All i
Files on the Disk. This test sets up the sectors and their
addresses to provide the hard disk controller with information _
about the drive during the initial setup. j
